Rochester Hills Public Library and Rochester Writers will showcase 10 Local Authors for the Eighth Annual Rochester Author Fair and Book Sale on Saturday, November 28, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Applications to participate will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on July 31, 2026.
Freelance Marketplace Writers’ Group: The Business of Writing
The Freelance Marketplace Writers’ Group meets virtually, usually on the third Tuesday of the month, at 7:30 p.m. Different topics and guests each month, however the main conversation is always about the Business of Writing (this is NOT a critique group). The 19th Annual Rochester Writers’ Conference will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan. “Michigan’s Best One Day Conference” will host a variety of presentations for fiction and nonfiction writers, including topics in craft talks, business of writing workshops, and literary agent appointments.

SAVE THE DATE: Master Classes with Lynne Golodner
Lynne Golodner, author of 12 books and hundreds of essays and articles, with an MFA in Poetry and a BA in journalism, will be running two workshop-style Master Classes in November for Rochester Writers. These will be in-person events in Downtown Rochester.
The first one, Finding Your Voice, will be held on November 7, 2026. The second one, Demystifying Show, Don’t Tell, will be held on November 14, 2026. Both are separate classes – attend one or both – held on Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
